[7.875][BUG][OPEN] HTTP proxy utilisation to 100% on one core

Hi,
last night about 1900 my time the HTTP proxy took the utilisation of one core to 100%. I let the process run overnight to see if the midnight processes would fix the problem, no they didn't.
I have searched the logs and not been able to find a reason.
I was able to access the internet.

I made some changes to the proxy as part of the testing v8b, but found that the proxy would not pass traffic afterwards. I had full access to webadmin.

I restarted the ASG from webadmin and all functionality returned except MS live messenger won't connect with the http/s scanning enabled. Seperate issue though.

    Updating to 7.885 is definitely a good idea if you want to use the proxy ;-)

    Hi,
    tonight at 1940 Melbourne time the http proxy has started to use a lot of cpu time.
    Depending on what part of the ASG I am looking at depends on the value used.
    1/. Dashboard shows 52%
    2/. Reports show 50% approx
    3/. Webadmin -> support only shows the http proxy consuming approx 19% of CPU.
    4/. according to TOP process httpproxy is consuming 100% - one core.

    I have reviewed most of the logs and can't find any entries that are significant at the time shown on the reports as the condition starting.

    I would suggest that
    config daemon log
    http daemon log
    kernel log
    be reviewed. None of these appear to have anything to do with the http proxy issue.

    Another issue which probably should be raised as a bug, is that sometime this afternoon my ASG was issued a new IP address by the ISP, this is not recorded anywhere eg in the PPPoE log.

    Hi Ian,

    r u still facing this problem or fixed ,i am facing this problem the new user in my building on top floor use internet from my asg he has kaspersky's kis  ,which av do u have

    Hi utm_kid,
    I rely primarily on the ASG for virus defence. I use the one that comes with W7, my wife (XP PRo) and my laptop (Vista 32) have AVG 9.
    I am not sure what my sons use.

    I can't tell whether it has been fixed or not because my config was changed to remove the apparent cause. Also I have not been able to workout what causes the high usage, it just starts. The Astaro Team have had a good look and identified some things that need changing.
    I am currently using 7.890 from the up2date package, but shortly I have to do a fresh install from the ISO to test the install process.
