How do you like the new UI?

Hi Gert,

in the first moment when I saw the new UI, it was a bit like *WOW*

But after a few hours of usage the change is not too big at all [[;)]]

I like the new fonts, they are really better than before. The Flash elements are definitely an improvement, the old graphs were quite antique [[;)]]

I'd make the usage bars in the dashboard a little bit higher, I believe the values inside them could be better readable.

Will we also see an updated User Portal?

I agree with Monarch.

I expect we will see some fine tuning over the later beta releases.

Yes, we get a lot of finetuning and pixel pushing to align everything properly. And yes, we will also rework the EndUserPortal.

We want to give a a fresher, crisper look. With the inmproved icons we hope to make it a bit easier to use.

But any feedback is always welcome.

This has been marked as "planned", will we see a change in this direction?

regarding the scaling, yes and no.

We have tested the complete scale to screen feature in height and width and especially the width did not work out well. 

Therefore we only added the height scaling, which is already in the beta which is currently out.

I managed to onstall V8 today. 
The new UI ist nice, but a litte bit to much white.

The main menu in V8 on the left side is better readable than the "actual" one in the V7, because it's single grey colored and not dual colored as in V7. But for my eyes the mainly black/green/orange coloring of V7 results in a better readability than the new coloring in V8.

The search function introduced with 7.866 is cool [:)]

Sad, that only height scaling could be implemented up to now and no width scaling. Webadmin looks more or less as before, and on the todays state of the art 16:9 Displays as I use this kind of scaling seems not to offer a real visible effect or benefit [:(]

we tried many different approaches also with the width scaling, but the whole widget based gui framework did not benefit if you scale it, it just looked od and it did not help to show more information. We would have needed to completely rework the framework and implement many new widgets to benefit from the increased width.  

even the table looked out of place so we only implemented the hight scaling.
