[7.850][QUESTION][ANSWERED] Additional Addresses not showing at terminal

Hello Friends !

Additional Addresses create but now able to see at terminal

why /what is  UNKNOWN state

    In version 8 there are no alias interfaces anymore.

    Unfortunately ifconfig only displays the first IPv4 address
    but all ipv6 addresses.

    So please use "ip addr" to see all IPv4 and IPv6 addresses instead ifconfig.


    What do you mean by "number are not in sequence" ?

    can u pls tell me more on this-----In version 8 there are no alias interfaces anymore

    number 4 and number 6 yesterday it was showing 16 and 17 !
    please check image 
    but here it is showing additional address but it do u think it should have same name 

    pls check image 1 image 2 is old (last beta)

    after reboot i got right numbers /sequence  pls check image interface (no 4)

    The posting from da_merlin was a bit misleading.

    The facts:
    1. "ifconfig" is deprecated since the release of ASG v7.
        Please use "ip".
    2. The "sequence number" of the interfaces is not important. There may be a reason, why number 5 is missing in your images.
    3. V8 supports additional addresses.
        Only the concept of "alias interfaces" is no longer supported since v7.

    An additional address is just that: one more address on an network interface.
    It's not another "alias interface". That concept was never implemented in the kernel, but only in "ifconfig".
