[7.450][QUESTION][ANSWERED] New device in ACC ?

Is it normal that after the upgrade and a configuration restore of V7.402 to the new 7.450, the ACC sees a new device ID#

That would mean that all devices have to be reorganised and the old devices deleted out of the ACC.

    Hi,

    when you completely reinstall a device from scratch it will loose its ID#. If you are using Firmware Up2Date, the ID# is preserved.

    A backup will not contain this ID# because otherwise you could not install the same backup on another device connecting to the same ACC.

    Remedy: In order to keep your device correlations, you either need to use Up2Date or save the ID# of the device.

    How to save the ID# of the device?

    Located in /etc/guid on the respective device - grab the file and restore it to a fresh installation before (!) activating the connection to the ACC. Beware: If you end up with more than one device with the same ID#, the first to connect to the ACC will always win.
