I am using astaro myself to test my home network, I like many others in this forum work in IT as an outsourced admin, I am reading that the beta has been extended to Jan, what data in Jan execty? I have gone to the beta 4 link and it gives me the option to download the latest beta, but it looks to me that the iso downloading is 3.5!!
Once I' have this downloaded, IF it's still in beta stage, how would I go about licensing it, I already have the free 10 IP license, but also like many others found that they were gone in about 10 seconds, even with objects not using Astaro as a gateway, so it must be picking up broadcasts I guess.
I am in a good position to recomend this to bisines as I move around.
yes, the trouble is once you have gone to all the trouble of configuring your network so that at least it's somewhere near the mark, to then have to trash the whole lot and start again is a bit of a backstep, it would be really handy if they could change this option so that you could, if you wanted use your working config with the trial license.
I'm still to find out if when using the trial license you will at the end of it recieve the 25 user license, this would make it more worth while I guess!
Hi there,
Sorry to semi-derail this thread, but I'm interested in beta'ing V7.4 (been beta'ing most versions so far). My only concern reading this thread is that I currently have the 50 user home license given for helping out on one of their last beta's and really, really, really dont want to lose it.
So the question is, can I install this beta and still retain my existing license, and if the answers no, how easy is it to trash it and restore my current config?
I only have 1 machine that I can use as my UTM (so I cant run 2 in parallel for testing) but as I'm a home user there's nothing ultra critical that it's being used for (apart from keeping my family safe from the internet nasties of course) so I'm comfortable using beta software on it.
bkortleven: If it is done like last time around, at the end of the beta, based on your participation, Astaro will contact you using the email address you have in your board profile. Sort of a don't call them, they'll call you thing.
