I just installed the beta and it asked for a key, otherwise I would only get 30 days. How do I go about getting the 25 IP license so I can start using this? I'm glad to contribute as this product looks like a keeper ( been investigating UTMs for weeks now ), but I need to have access to more than 10 IPs to test my environment.
I am using astaro myself to test my home network, I like many others in this forum work in IT as an outsourced admin, I am reading that the beta has been extended to Jan, what data in Jan execty? I have gone to the beta 4 link and it gives me the option to download the latest beta, but it looks to me that the iso downloading is 3.5!!
Once I' have this downloaded, IF it's still in beta stage, how would I go about licensing it, I already have the free 10 IP license, but also like many others found that they were gone in about 10 seconds, even with objects not using Astaro as a gateway, so it must be picking up broadcasts I guess.
I am in a good position to recomend this to bisines as I move around.
I have the beta, dare I ask about the license?
yes I can use the trial, but if I would like to be able like others to make use of the beta 25 user license as I have a home setup that's just too much for 10 IP's.
I've installed the latest beta, and then retored from my previous version, but the problem is it seems to have also recovered my 10 IP license as well, this means I have the beta version and not able to use it with the restrictions!!
Am I able to retrieve the license for the 30 day Beta? and after that period will I be able to use the 25 IP license? I would like to get testing right away and post my results, but with this restriction it's impossible.
Then you can' t use your backup. The trial license gets lost/overwritten when restoring a backup (as you figured out). To get a new trial license, you have to do a factory reset or reinstall from scratch. Don' t use an old backup afterwards to keep the trial (Backups include the license).
You may upgrade to another license afterwards when the beta is over. You can also save a beta backup and restore it later on the final but you have to provide a valid license then.
