This issue was resolved yesterday afternoon (EST) ... apparently CommTouch had a problem with their pattern servers that was causing the problem. THe only customers I had that were affected by this were those running devices with a small amount of RAM.. when the ctasd daemon grew beyond the free physical RAM, it started to swap, and that's when things slowed down. The problem should be gone now.
