HCL-ASL-V6 and Intel 6300ESB south bridge

Hello ASL-Team...

The Intel 6300ESB south bridge chip allows configuring RAID on Serial ATA drives. It supports RAID 0 and RAID 1.

I found in your HCL the "IBM 6300ESB" SATA onboard controller. Is it possible that this "IBM-Controller" is the Intel south bride integrated one?

I would suggest to create a new Tab in your HCL for supported Mainboard Chipsets.

How big is the opportunity to see "Intel 855GME" and "Intel 6300ESB" listed in your HCL? [:)]

isn't that the ICH6R listed in the same table? We tried different Intel-based boards with SATA raid and had no problems afaik. (see HCL) If you have such a board/chipset - give it a shot.

The Intel(R) 6300ESB SATA RAID Controller "PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_25B0&CC_0104" is known as ICH5RHR.

I will evaluate a Centrino-Board with Intel(R) 6300ESB and give you an update.

A little late but better than never...

Setup iso: asl-6.001-050705-3.iso

-Mainboard Chipset is an Intel 855 GME
-The onboard VGA card is not detected properly (runs only in Textmode, no Astaro Logo during boot up)

-The Raid Controller is operating in compatible mode, if you switch to Raid lilo won`t boot.
