I have waited for an hour.. I keep getting the same thing here. Offers the certificate then it just times out... ie.. no page displayed!?

I have rebuilt the firewall 3 times now. Same result [:(]

Fresh install on same machine as I tested the initial beta on.
(PIII-256MB RAM 13GB HDD, Intel BX chipset)

Weird, a few minutes after writing the above post the fw box made some beeps, three of em.  All by itself... Never heard ASL making noises except for the boot beeps.

Still no webmin response.

30mins later....
Hrm, the PC just made a lot of alarm sounding noises then... 

ASL HAS POSSESED MY PC ! Help ! Guards !

But the three beeps are normal - the ASL always beeps three times when finished with booting and ready for webmin access. 

No, this wasn't the boot beeps... These beeps happened a lot later... Then more beeps and alarm sounding noises 20mins later...

please open the file "/etc/wfe/conf/packetfilter_advanced" and try to change the value of "status" in the section "synratelimiter" to 0.

Made the suggested change, nope, no good.  Same behavior.
 

It does work now....

IE hung the first time, second try worked fine...
Set passes and logged in OK to webmin.

Closed IE and reloaded again to dbl check and yes it appears OK.  synratelimiter is set to 0...

To Astaro Beta Developers:  I will try my best to load each beta on the following machines and report back any difficulties.

Yeehaw it works ---- it wooooorks .

Praise the networklord. It seems much more stable now and when finished work here i will test it with DSL at home.

i had all of these same symptoms when using IE.  Using Netscape on my linux box, i have no problem at all connecting to the Astaro beta, regardless of the syn rate limit setting.    I think IE doesn't like something with the ssl certificate.  I tried generating a new one and got farther but still couldn't get logged in with Windows/IE.   Always Netscape and Mozilla and even Konqueror work fine.

same results here: mozilla (1.5) works fine, but is veeeeeeeery slooooow. ie gets the certificate and then stops doing anything. after disabling the synrate-limiter ie (6.0) works fine and it's really fast. the webadmin interface is even faster compared to version 4.702.

my hardware:
p3-800 / 512 mb ram / intel nic's   

Synrate-limiter fix worked for my systems.  Very strange problem indeed, and it was worse using IE 6.0.  I think mozilla has a longer timeout period which is why it would work half-way.
