Sophos VLAN

Hi!

Migrated Cyberoam to Sophos XG 17.0.2-MR2

Port A - 192.168.0.1
port A.10 - 10.10.10.1
port A.20 - 10.10.20.1

My HP 1820-24G-PoE switch is not picking up the VLANs

Any one do the VLANs between a Sophos and a HP 1820?

I've set up a DHCP Server on the Sophos for port A.10 and one on A.20, but nothing is getting an IP.  Tagged switch port 10 for both VLANs as that is the one that connects to the Sophos, then port 7 is tagged for vlan 10 port 8 is tagged for vlan 20

What am I missing?

Thanks!

Brad.

  • On your HP-1820 switch what mode is the port set to (truck, general, etc)? I am not sure how it is done on your switch but I have a Ubiquity Edgeswitch hanging off my firewall and this is how it is configured. Using your above configuration as an example:

    PortA - 192.168.0.1              Switchport "1"           VLAN 1       Untagged

    PortA.10 - 10.10.10.1           Switchport "1"           VLAN 10     Tagged

    PortA.20 - 10.10.20.1           Switchport "1"           VLAN 20     Tagged

As you can see their is only one ethernet port on the firewall being used and it is connected to switch port "1". Now when I have a device (say a windows desktop) plugged in to say port 15 I have port 15 configured on the switch for it to be a member of VLAN 10 and is untagged.

    Hope this helps.

  • Hey! I actually needed to reboot my switch for it to take affect since I changed the primary network.
While it was rebooting, I hooked up a ubiquity switch and set it up the same way and the vlans worked fine.

    Thanks for the quick response
