BRIDGE Mode for transparent reporting - No internet access

Hi,

I have an issue with an XG210 - SFOS16.05.

I used the Bridge Wizard to create the bridge, and everything seems to work like a charm then I discover I had no more internet resolution.

Here is my configuration :

INTERNET > RouteurCISCO (192.168.10.254) > Port4_XG210_Port1,2,3 (192.168.10.253) > Switching with more than 40 users

"BR" network is the pairing of Port1,2,3, and 4. 1,2,3 are LAN, 4 is WAN.

I used 8.8.8.8 for DNS.

I see, in the reporting tabs, all the traffic going to the XG from the LAN.

I can receive email sent by the XG210 (backup and link_down) on an outside mail domain.

But none of the users are accessing the Internet. Some services seems to connect, but I think it is because of IP connexion, not FQDN.

Can you help me ?

Cordially,
Johan LE HELLOCO

  • Hi,

you do not appear to have a firewall rule allowing your users access to the internet?

Also why do you have the cisco router? What value is it adding to the connection?

  • Hi, thanks for your answer.

As I said, I used the wizard, which adds the correct Rules : Anyone, Anyservice, Authorize always. Plus SMTP/SMTPS Business Rule for emailing.

And I wanted the XG to be transparent, for reporting ONLY. To make SAR reporting. That's why I have the CISCO routeur ; not doing any change to my client networking right now.

  • Ok guys, I fix my problem.

A little warning for others who would like to use the WIZARD : when you change to "Bridge mode" and select you Wan link, don't forget it uses a /30 for IP LAN Address !!
You have to change it back to your correct LAN MASK Address ...

That was my issue, everything is ok now.
