V17 syncronized application control, on a home licence?

I've been using V17 synced app control successfully myself, i've tried to get it working for a friend but its not seeing the apps.  the heartbeat works as i can see endpoints, everything is setup but its just not gathering applications.

The only difference is he uses Home licence, would that be the reason its not working?

We need more KB articles on the new v17 features.

But well done Sophos this is a killer feature and its changed everything.

  • The applications are not being detected by XG.

Heatbeat from the Endpoints works and the firewall is registered on Central OK.

Like i mentioned my own setup it all works fine, so i replicated my setup on my mates setup but were not getting any applications being picked up by synchronized security on XG.

The only big difference is his XG is using a home licence where as mine is a full blown licence.

One thing i'm still not 100% on is does XGs synchronized security need to use Centrals Application controls policies to work??  I do have App policies setup on mine and his, however mine is blacklisting apps but i left his on monitor only.  Does Centrals App policies play any part in XGs Synchronized application control feature at all??

    Cheers

  • My friend has the same Central Endpoint advance licences, as to XG as i mentioned hes using the free home licence.  You mentioned a valid Network protection licence, well its showing: -

Network Protection Evaluating Tue 31 Dec 2999

Is that sufficient for Synchronized app control on XG v17 home to work?  Or does it require a full XG v17 licence?

    Thanks
