Can't import groups from AD server - Cyberoam CR25wiNG

I'm trying to configure Active Directory authentication, the Authentication Server entry has been added and when I click 'Test Connection' it comes back as successful. When I try to import groups via this server however I receive the error "Error:Unable to Fetch groups"

I've set this up in exactly the same fashion I have configured another Cyberoam (on a separate network) which worked straight away, no questions asked. I've used AD Explorer (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/adexplorer) to verify that the credentials I am using to authenticate have the appropriate administrative access to the domain, which has worked just fine (user is in the Domain Admins and Administrators groups).

Here are my settings for the Authentication Server (domain name changed for security reasons of course)

  • Dean,

you are using Cyberoam OS and not XG. You should move to XG OS.

I did not see a Cyberoam group inside this community. I do not know if there is a Cyberoam Community on another website...

  • You are correct, however I could not find any Cyberoam community anywhere online and the Sophos XG firmware has been built off the Cyberoam firmware so the options are generally the same and seems to function pretty much the same so I was hoping somebody would have some ideas.

Was hoping not to have to go through the process of upgrading the firmware to XG just to get this working, as I've seem it working on the same firmware elsewhere. If that's the only way I'm going to get support however then I guess I'll have to.

  • OK, I have upgraded to the latest Sophos XG OS (SFOS 16.05.7 MR-7) and my results are unchanged, the exact same error occurs when trying to import groups.
