My internet comes from the ONT as a coax thus I must use the provided "quantum" router and the Edgerouters WAN IP is set in the quantum router as a DMZ host. The Edgerouters subnet is 10.98.0.X and the quantum is 192.168.1.X. The IP addresses come from the Edgerouters DHCP. The WAN on the XG firewall is set to 10.98.0.150 and the same for dns.

Yes, that is because you have a static address assigned to the network interface. Try changing to DHCP and see what IP is assigned to the DNS.

With your XG DHCP server, what DNS do you point at also what gateway?

I was able to get the WAN interface to get a DHCP IP from the Edgerouter, the DNSis set to obtain from DHCP yet to luck. The DHCP server uses the devices DNS settings.

Update: I reset the XG to factory defaults and directly attached the WAN straight to the Quantum Router and setting the XG WAN IP to static and using that static IP as a DMZ on the Quantum Router. This fixed the DNS issues I was having (assuming that the Edgerouter was providing DNS as well) and as well as removing https inspection. The firewall seems to be working fine right now.
