Can only access internet if DNS set manually.

Good day, I installed XG Home on a Poweredge R310 and I only can get internet on a computer if its DNS is set manually. My network is comprised of Frontier ONT----> Quantum Router--->Edgerouter Pro (DMZ to Quantum Router)---> XG Firewall---->Switch etc. The only time I can access the internet on a LAN PC is if I enter DNS manually. I can do a DNS lookup through XG Firewall and its connected to the internet. Also when activating I enter the code emailed to me and a message pops up saying it cant connect to authentication server while at the bottom right of that message an icon says connected to internet. Any idea?

  • i and welcome,

your network connections do seem a little convoluted. Where is the internet connection?

Where do your IP addresses come from?

Where does the XG get it external network details from?

My internet comes from the ONT as a coax thus I must use the provided "quantum" router and the Edgerouters WAN IP is set in the quantum router as a DMZ host. The Edgerouters subnet is 10.98.0.X and the quantum is 192.168.1.X. The IP addresses come from the Edgerouters DHCP. The WAN on the XG firewall is set to 10.98.0.150 and the same for dns.
