XG cuts bandwidth to the half

Hi all,

i have the issue, that when I use my xg the internet bandwidth cuts to the half.

I have a 200 Mbit connection and when i am using the XG i only get ~ 90 Download / 10 upload
When i am directly connected to the provider router i get 190 Mbit, so i think the connection is ok.

Settings:

- XG 115w
- interface is connected via 1000 Mbps - Full Duplex
- firewall rule on top with no ips, qos, web or application
- System Services -> Traffic Shapping Settings is set to 200 000

Did i forget any options?

I am thankful for every tip!

Regards,
Max

    - Thats exactly the speedtester i used

  • Max,

So another thing. If you have PPPoE on the WAN link then check the advanced settings. Maybe your operator has different settings than the standard. I have changed MTU = 1468, MSS = 1420 and the link operates at 300/30 Mbps on XG125.

  • Hi Max,

You may post the snapshot of the bandwidth monitor tool, to access the tool from the console.

    console> system diagnostics utilities bandwidth-monitor

    Post the snapshot

Toggle 'u' two times to check if the there is any errors/sec

If there is then it could be an issue with the negotiation. Otherwise, you may conduct a ping test to check if there is any packet loss over the WAN.

Console>system diagnostics utilities ping interface PortB count 100 size 10000 8.8.8.8

Considering ISP is on Port B. Let us know the % packet-loss.

  • Hi Aditya,

i'm facing upload speed drop too. here's my screen shot.

port A5 setup: Mtu : 1500 , non tick over ride mss.

  • Hi Garuda ,

Then you may need to adjust the value of

MTU to 1492 and MSS value 1452.

MTU to 1500 or 1492 and MSS value to 1412.

You may adjust the range of MSS between 500 to 1460.
