Is the UTM 110/120 enough for XG Firewall with a 70Mb/s connection?

There's not a lot of information regarding the SFOS XF Firewall installed on an older UTM 110/120 appliance.

Currently I'm using a VMWare virtual machine, but I'd like to have a dedicated appliance.
For about £100, I can pick up either a UTM 110/120 or a UTM 220 (without SSD).

As the UTM 220 is physically bigger and consumes more electricity, I'd like to know if I can get away with a UTM 110/120 appliance without bottlenecking my internet connection.

I have a line that maxes out at 70Mb/s download and 20Mb/s upload.

Finally, it is possible to install SFOS XG Firewall and activate a Home license on both of these appliances, right?

Thanks

  • Thanks for that info.

I was under the impression that anything other than the UTM 120 would enforce those limitations perhaps by having less RAM or maybe a slower CPU.

I've purchased it anyway, so I am guessing that it can run Home editions of either UTM 9.5 or XG Firewall. When I get the item, is it difficult to install the OS? I'm guessing these don't have a keyboard input, DVD drive or monitor output, so how is it done?

Once I've installed the OS on the appliance and configured it, would I then simply be able to restore a backup from a VM of either UTM 9.5 or XG Firewall directly to the physical appliance?

  • You can install it with a bootable usb stick.

It has VGA output and you can connect a keyboard.
