Can you install the FREE Sophos XG FW onto a SG-125 Appliance?

You can install on SG only SW version and not the hw ISO.

For the performance it depends on which feature you are going to use.

On google you can find XG sizing guide.

For a true 100 mb you need an sg 210.

No, the free XG version is used for VM and cannot be implemented with the hardware model such as Cyberoam, XG and SG. 

 -is the SW version available for DL, i assume this is he VM Image, SW-SFOS_16.05.5_MR-5-233?

Should i be OK installing it? make a bootable USB i assume and boot the appliance up

Aditya Patel - Are you sure? i believe software image serves more purpose than just VM, and some other reading the SW image can be successfully installed on the SG appliance.

The software images can be loaded onto other Linux Box or a CPU with Intel-based hardware.
