Why can't I search or filter Mail Logs?

Under reports, go to custom, next to show select custom mail reports. 

From there you will have options next to from, to etc which you can select

logging will be improved on v17. To search for mail and the reasons why they have been blocked, go to advanced shell (console > option 5 > 3) and have a look at file /var/tslog/awarrenmta.log and use cat with grep in order to search words.

Thanks for pointing out the reports, they are pretty useful but I can't get it to show me a mail status? Like quarantined, failed, rejected, etc. Can that be done?

That is something I can do but not something our Helpdesk staff should or could do (they wouldn't have SSH access anyway). We used to give the access to the mail manager on the UTM exclusively. I think looking at the log file itself would be too complicated.

Good to hear that things will be improved in v17. Do you have any information on when that will be released or what to expect?

v17 should come late this summer. However, it seems that Mail manager is still to be considered.

Already voted :) I just don't know why they would take a feature-rich product like the UTM and then remove some of the most essential pieces, then try to sell it... I have a lot of adjusting to do with the XG.

XG does not have the mail manager feature reach like UTM9. They will add this feature, I am more than sure. Voted either.

this is a must have feature in a xg, we are currently doing this manually, viewing those hundred pages in order for us to review the disposition of the email, we have voted for this feature as well.
