Large amount of gateway traffic not appearing in reports

Over a 3 day period (7-9 June), the Gateway traffic statistics on my XG firewall show some very large amounts of data.

I have confirmed that these same figures are reported by my ISP but I can't find any matching volume of traffic in the dashboard reports. See a report by 

All the different traffic reports sum up to the same amount of data but it is nowhere close to the 100-200GB reported by the gateway and my ISP.

Is there any other way to access a more detailed report on this data? Is there some data through the gateway that is not logged by the firewall?

I wouldn't have noticed this except that it would require my internet connection to be downloading at almost maximum speed for a full 24 hours to reach that amount of data (200+GB).

  • Something to think and investigate on your lan. If a download fails and restarts over and over again, the failed download never shows against any device because it never gets past the XG.

    Not sure about this as I have not tried but you might try changing your scanning from realtime to batch to batch to see if that helps catch the device.

  • Sorry, not quite sure if I understand. Is this a Sophos XG setting? If so, where do I find it? I looked through a few menus and nothing appeared.
