Virtual XG - Sophos 55AP - No access points pending

Hi,

I have spent about an hour reading all posts that seem relevant but have had no luck so sorry if this is repeated elsewhere.  I am running an upto date Home licensed virtual XG under Hyper-V, I have dual network cards, internal nic has windows management enabled and connects into my gig switch and the external switch connects into the VDSL modem.  I have no issues with web browsing or services and currently have a Sophos 55AP for testing which does have an internal IP from the XG DHCP service but does not appear under access points to authorise.  I have noticed under Configure - Network that the GuestAP interface which has WiFi icon reads as unplugged, could this have anything to do with it and would I need a third physical nic?

The question is How do i use this Sophos AP as my Wireless management?

  • Hi Mark ,

Are you using licensed version XG or free Home version ?. If you have a Licensed version , kindly logs a ticket with support for the same and check if you are getting the same results on SG as well.

  • I am using the free Home version.  I spun up the SG and no luck, tried configuring DHCP option 234 via the gui but no luck.  Went back to the XG which had a new firmware - updated and still no luck.  Have tried adding DHCP option 234 via console but not sure on the syntax.

Still no luck - why would it not work on the SG & the XG I wonder?  I dont have a complex set up, two nics on an Intel NUC - Gig desktop switch and a Sophos AP.
