can XG bridge mode help diagnose computer network gateway mode problems?

If I make the router behind my firewall go in and out of the bridged xg will it be easier to see why I can't get past a layer 3 hop?

  • HI B.R.O,

In a way yes, if you could use the diagnostic tools and Tcpdump to capture the traffic and since the XG is between Gateway and ISP router it should show only a traffic related to WAN Interface address and the ISP gateway. For advanced troubleshooting, you could use Wireshark to check the packets contents .
