XG installation on HP MicroServer

I've just tried to install the release version of XG 16 on my HP MicroServer Gen8 and I'm experiencing issues upon boot. Installation goes through just fine however after rebooting to boot into the system I get an error stating that no system disk was detected. I've tried everything I can think of such as enabling AHCI mode, IDE mode and trying booting from USB and CD. Has anyone experienced this issue? If so was a solution to this found?

  • I am having exactly this issue, but if I use easy2boot and boot from the first HDD, I just get a blinking cursor and it doesn't seem to do anything. Am I missing something? :/

  • I have been running a Sophos XG as a virtual machine on the HP MircoServer Gen8 for 2 years without problems. The installation and booting works without any problems and that I had to use some tricks: Create a virtual machine, insert the Sophos XG ISO image into the virtual CD drive and install it.
The hypervisor is a free VMWare ESXi server in version 6.5. The server has 12 GB RAM and besides the Sophos XG there are 3 other LINUX VMs running on this hardware.
