XG installation on HP MicroServer

I've just tried to install the release version of XG 16 on my HP MicroServer Gen8 and I'm experiencing issues upon boot. Installation goes through just fine however after rebooting to boot into the system I get an error stating that no system disk was detected. I've tried everything I can think of such as enabling AHCI mode, IDE mode and trying booting from USB and CD. Has anyone experienced this issue? If so was a solution to this found?

  • Hi,

thanks for the suggestion however upon looking into it the requirements for esxi are too high. This is because it requires a minimum of 4GB of RAM and this is what the server has. I'm just going to wait and hopefully support for the controller will be added

    thanks

  • I have this same problem with identical hardware, FWIW I don't think it's necessarily the SATA/RAID controller at fault. After reading this thread I installed (very slowly) to a 64GB USB in the internal socket and still had the same error. Think it may be something peculiar to the HP BIOS, but I believe I've tried most of the options and I'm about ready to quit too.

Glad I found this thread anyway, didn't spend as much time going round in circles as I could have so thanks for that. Will go back to UTM 9.
