  • Hi Robert,

There might be some connectivity issue with the concerned SFM. Is SFM able to reach the Internet? Are you able to name lookup u2d.sophos.com from SFM advance shell?

  • Thank you for your reply.
I have successfully Activated, Registered, and Synchronized two XG Firewall software appliances from the same router port on my network; therefore, I conclude the SFM has connectivity.
The message "cannot find server sophos.com" appears in the bottom of the error-message window. The complete URL begins "sophos.com/.../Registration.aspx, where xxxxxxx... is a very long string of alpha-numeric and special characters.
I have tried pointing the SFM to various internal and external DNS servers by entering their IP addresses in the SFM's Basic Setup (eg, 208.67.222.222, 208.67.220.220).. I even tried one of the Root DNS servers (IP address 4.4.4.4). Nothing works.
I'm not familiar with advance shell (nor SSH); else, I would have tried them.

I conclude the SFM software tries to connect differently than does the XGFW software.
