Problem, sophos RED 15 cannot find sophos XG

I will test RED 15 with 2 firewall but I have some problem. My RED 15 can connect to router(firewall) but it cannot find XG(firewall that I add RED).

Firewall IP, I use public router(firewall) IP
RED IP, I use some private IP that it behind firewall.

and another firewall, I use it on other private IP.

My problem, RED cannot find SG115. LED on RED show blinking green light at "internet" ,and later, it reboot.

Thank,

  • I am having the same problem. Did you ever get this resolved?

On my Public DSL "All Ports TCP and UDP are forwarded to the WAN-facing port on XG210.

    After booting:

    - System flashes red and Internet flashing Green... then system reboots and start over.

  • Are there any errors in the red.log?

I have the same symptoms with a XG105.

I find the following ERRORs in the red.log:

  • I am new to the RED 15 and to the XG210 (16.01.0). Can you tell me where I go to retrieve this log? is it in the XG or in the RED itself?

  • Do You know how to connect to the XG via SSH?

You can also open the CLI in the Webadmin. Username ->Consol:

Then login with the admin password and open the Advanced Shell by typing 5 + enter (Device management), 3 + Enter (Advanced Shell)

    First change directory to /log
    XG85w_XN01_SFOS 16.01.2# cd /log

then tail the last entrys for the red.log
    XG85w_XN01_SFOS 16.01.2# tail red.log

  • Thank you, here is the error I get:

I am guessing this has something to do with the TX and RX having now transmission.

Can you help me troubleshoot as to why they would not?

  • Ok my problem was completly different nature.

Did you check if red.astaro.com is reachable on Port 3400 from the RED site?
    You can try with telnet:

     telnet red.astaro.com 3400
