Web based traffic shaping not working - Sophos xg v19.5

Hi,

what is the speed of your wan link? The QOS figures are in bytes, not bits. Also you have labelled the QoS as business critical.

Hi,

I'm trying to configure 5Mbps upload and 10Mbps download rate limiting for youtube.The link does not contain policies related to Web category. Further, I have changed Priority from Normal-3 to business critical for testing purposes.

My Wan link is 350Mbps which is configured in Total bandwidth.

where does your firewall rule sit in your rule list? Are there any other rules that the traffic might bypass your limiting rule? Also are you using application and IPS as part of your rule?

Hi,

The rule is on top and IP address of the system is specified in source. No Application control is set to allow all and IPS is turned off

YT does not go near 10mbs on my network with a 1000/50 link.

I haven't tried applying QOS on web policies only on application policies where it works.

Have you setup the System services - traffic shaping settings for the WAN link, you need to set these slightly less than the total link speed?
