SASI and iMAPS

Hi folks,

I have been reviewing some of the junk mail I have received in an attempt to see why it is not being blocked ny the XG. Some of the messages that are addressed to me are marked as possible spam when they are really legitimate messages.

The question is does XG SASI still scan iMAPS messages?

Ian

  • Hello  ,

Thank you for reaching out to the community, That's how SPAM protection can be applied to those mails, otherwise, SPAM protection won't work for any mails.

    Thanks & Regards,

  • Hi,

thank you of rresponding, but your answer does not clarify if SASI works with iMAPS and why some messages have a Sophos entry and others do not. Why most messages are classified as possible spam, but none identified as spam even with multiple destination addresses and some clearly spam, Norton renewal notices macfee (and many different spellings, renewal notices let alone bitcoin and failed credit card debits.

  • I would suggest to log a service request with the sophos support and submit few email samples - https://support.sophos.com/support/s/article/KB-000033422?language=en_US

Then the sophos support can raise internal Sophos Lab request and double check with the team to conclude this once and for all !

    Thanks & Regards,

  • Hi,

as a home user I am not entitled to create support cases, but rely on the forum for answers. Previously SASI used to add X-SASI to emails. but not anymore, just E=Sophos and version number.

I have updates some of my email policies, though I do not expect them to catch much if any because of the message and header formatting.

  • Hi,

I have updated my mail rules and now see in the daily report all the check if mail is available entries in log viewer are now classified as spam.

I would post a screenshot, but the file does not display after it is uploaded.

and I get an error message from the forum "an error occurred. Please contact your administrator"
