So you have an ISP router in front of your XG on this interface. Has the ISP performed a firmware/reset upgrade on the router which is blocking the ICMP traffic from your firewall?

No, no update to the ISP router. If i directly connect to the Router via my mobile/other laptop via lan to check the connection the internet is working fine.
Also, i would mainly want to know why its not allowing me tk change the IP in the WAN link manager. Is there some config inconsistency at the backend?
Could this be some sort of ARP problem? Maybe you could try to add a static entry:
1) go to the cli, ping your gw an get the MAC address:
ping 192.168.0.1
arp 192.168.0.1
? (192.168.0.1) at 33:44:55:66:77:88 [ether] on Port2
2) Add a static entry via WebUI:
I feel like I had a similar issue where the gateway appeared to always be down when it obviously wasn't. (Didn't have any indication of loss of packets dropped, though.) I can't remember the exact solution but it was something like changing a setting on the gateway, changing it back, then saving and suddenly it was up. Like a corruption in a setting somewhere. Sorry I can't remember the details.
Hello Advait,
For the issue related to "Gateway failover rule couldn't be updated" you might be affected by NC-109120
As Rfcat mentioned, create a case and mention the NC above.
Regards,
I've had the same, it was a backend database problem - the solution offered was to delete and recreate the interface but as the site only has the one link and is remote it's not going to happen for a while (and doesn't cause any problems in this instance).
