RED60 reboot takes 1 hour to reconnect

As already described here  SD-RED60 offline for a long time after reboot

we have a RED60 that needs ~1hour to reconnect after a reboot or firmwareupgrade. This is since a year now.

RED Firmware
3.0.008

I'd like to know how we could monitor what the machine is doing except the LED. Of course the machine is remote and no one wants to look at the LED for an hour.

The RED logs on the firewalls are not helpful as they only contains logs from the time when the RED is connected.

Any good idea how to diagnose?

  • Hello  ,

Thank you for the update, do we have any static routes to RED configured and if yes have you checked that after the reboot or firmware upgrade the static route to RED vanishes ?

    Thanks & Regards,

  • there is VLAN configured on the ED ports but no static route to red configured but the setup is not so common I think:

    XG---TRANSFER_VLAN---CORESWITCH---REMOTESWITCH--TRANSFER_VLAN--RED60

so the RED is communicating with a LAN IP instead of WAN IP. But that's all.

The RED uses DHCP on the uplink interface and the DHCP Server is on XG. The RED WAN receives the IP from XG.
