Sophos SD-RED 20 and SD-RED 60

Hi Sophos,

Recently, during an implementation of SD-RED 60, I was faced with an impossibility to configure a VLAN connection on the SD-RED uplink interface.

Here in Portugal, ISP's provide internet connections configured with VLAN.

Here an example of o fiber connection:

 LOGICAL CONNECTIVITY

  • Service Instance: IXS.21.77182
  • Service Network ID: 1004417898
  • Throughput: 100/20 Mbps
  • VLAN: 20
  • IP Address: 62.28.198.202
  • WAN/Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.252/30
  • Gateway: 62.28.198.201
  • Primary DNS: 62.28.40.173
  • Secondary DNS: 62.28.116.41

This configuration of the connection with VLAN is explained by the fact that a VoIP telephony solution is provided in the connection by the ISP provider. This separates the VoIP service from internet surfing.

Unfortunately, currently in the SFOS 19.0.0GA e RED firmware version 3.0.008, in the configuration of the static IP of the Uplink connection of the SD-RED, there is no option to configure a VLAN ID at the connection:

Note that this option exists for the firewall itself, under network, add VLAN on the WAN connection and I use it frequently:

I therefore ask you for a correction in the next release to allow this configuration.

THX

Regards

  • Sorry Vivek, but I'm This KB is to configure VLANs on the LAN side.

What Portugal and other country need is to set VLAN ID on the uplink connection, with static IP...

Let me know how do you configure the uplink connection with these parameters:

    • IP Address: 62.28.198.202
    • VLAN: 20 (tagged)
    • WAN/Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.252/30
    • Gateway: 62.28.198.201
    • Primary DNS: 62.28.40.173
    • Secondary DNS: 62.28.116.41

    Regards.
