XG RED unified firmware enabled vs not enabled

"Use RED unified firmware" option is applicable to only RED15(w) and RED50 device types.

I had actually come across the post you referenced earlier but was looking for clarity around what differences to expect.  The knowledgebase article states "RED unified firmware offers the latest features" and in the older forum post "Unified firmware brings together the code trains into one release which means it is simpler to maintain and update."  So are there any potential gains in terms of functionality or performance on the XG consumer side or is the benefit really only on the XG/RED development side?  What would the latest features be on 3.0.008 if any?

Was the vague "Some RED devices (example: RED 50) support both legacy firmware and unified firmware." statement in the knowledgebase intended to convey this?

True, we will change the docs to reflect this behavior.
