Protection Policies - "Save" Button not Working

Hello all.

I'm trying to add a new "Protection Policy".  When I fill in everything and press "Save"... nothing happens.  I think the "Save" button goes from a dark blue to a lighter blue, but nothing saves, no messages, no refreshes, nothing.  No feedback, and most importantly... the new policy does not save.

Same thing happens if I try to edit one of the existing ones.

Anybody else experiencing this?

  • Hi John,

we also know about this issue from several firewalls. This error was also present in 18.5.x

We still did not figure out what is the trigger for that. The only workaround is to logoff and logon again to the firewall.

    Regards,
    Sebastian

  • Hello Sebastian,

I had this behaviour when having a name that was starting with the same word as another policy containing a blank in between.

So having " Basic policy" and creating a new "Basic policy2" you won't be able to save the second one.

If you call it "Basic_policy2" , then everything is fine.

  • I renamed it Basic_Protection, and it saved!

Thanks jprusch!  The only problem now is, if I try to update the newly added policy by making a change and pressing "Save", it's the same behavior.  Looks like I'll have to delete and create every time?

These things don't instill confidence in the product, but my interactions with the community do.  Thank you all.
