Exim version upgraded to v4.94.2 !! Still in home page \Messages

Hi all,

I have this alert on all my firewalls : Exim version upgraded to v4.94.2 look at the picture please

What does it mean ? and  is the system waiting for an intervention from us?

I don't really like the alerts lying around Slight smile

Is there any way to resolve this please

  • Actually it is not that easy to remove this, the way the alert system is implemented. 

    Alerts works with flags. Those flags will be tagged to a particular alert. So if you would clean the alert, the next Schedule job will pick up the Flag again and place the notification once more. This is the way, to ensure, a alert will be shown all the time. 

    If you do a reimage of the firewall, this flag will never be set, therefore the appliance never knew, there was any kind of update or patch. 

    To change this behavior, you would have to restructure some of those management components, which is on the roadmap but has a lower priority compared to other features and improvements. It is not unknown to Sophos but for me personally, i do not use the internal alert system anymore. I moved to Central as a centralized alert platform.
