IPv6 on WAN is not getting address

dear all

I have istalled SF 19 on my hyper-v W16 server. 3 virtual switches - one is connected directly with the servers NIC - for WAN.

My ISP provides IP addresses with DHCP. IPv4 - everything is OK. IPv6 should get local link address for WAN and with prefix delegation it gives real 2001:7d0  / 56 adresses

But nothing is obtained from the ISP - no local link, no address block for PD. At the same time when I look under DNS IPv6 - I see that 2 IPv6 adresses of their DNS servers are obtained.. I haven't found any other place to configure IPv6 options other than under Network

What am I doing wrong?

With best

  • Hi

This info is given by Telia Estonia:

    IPv6

For internet interface will be given IPv6 address with the help of the Prefix Delegation (PD) from Telia EE address pool  2001:7d0  / 56.

WAN interface will not given IPv6 address, local link address will be used (unnumbered WAN)

    • IPv6 routing info comes from Routing Advertisment (RA)
    • PD ja DNS server aadresses will be sent through  DHCPv6
I used wireshark and saw that local link was given to my FW WAN, but when I enter this address mmanually, SFW says that local link cannot be the WAN address
So it seems that I have to find another similar software for my home firewalling

  • At this stage XG does not use PD. Local link can only be a gateway. You need 2001:7d0:: address range.
