You must enter a unique MAC address in mapping list error message

Hi,

I am facing an unusual situation with my SOPHOS XG 230.

I am keeping receiving the message "You must enter a unique MAC address in mapping list" each time I am trying to enter a new device in my Static IP MAC mapping.

After a deep audit of the MAC address list, each and everyone of them are unique, however the error message is still appearing.

Any advice to sort that issue out please?

Thanks in advance.

  • Hi : Thank you for reaching out to the Sophos community team. The mentioned error may appear if any of the MAC addresses in static DHCP entry is already present in any of the DHCP servers configured on the XG device. If you have validated for such MAC duplication in all DHCP servers added on XG and still error is appearing then you may check  CSC.log, applog.log during error time and if no clue then would suggest opening Support case to have next investigation.
