Default CA - CN=Namibia - any reason for that?

We purchased a bunch of XGS 136, reimaged them with MR2 and now upgraded them too MR3.

Now I noticed that the default CA on all machines looks like this:

This results in the default ApplianceCertificate to be issued by the Default CA looking like this:

Is there a particular reason for chosing Namibia?

  • Hello LHerzog,

I'm neither Sophos nor an XGS user. My guess is that (almost) all fields default to NA and this just happens to be the ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 country code of Namibia.

  • That is correct.

Go to certificates and hover over the ApplianceCertificate.  Certificates contain the text value NA.  The UI is trying to helpfully convert that to Nambia.  A browser might choose to display the raw NA or convert to a country.  I included a shot of how Chrome displays it.
