IPSEC-S2S / SSL-VPN-S2S / IPSEC-Remote Access -- No Routing Required

Hi,

I have a question as to why there is no routing rule to be configured for the following :

IPSEC Site To Site / Remote Access

SSL-VPN Site To Site

Please advise

  • If you are directly connected, you don‘t need any routes.

Just look at the routing table after setzing up a VPN like that.

No additional routes need to be set by you.

If you have a more complex setup with more segments on one or more sites, then this is a different scenario.

  • The XG builds the routes automatically from the information specified in the VPN connection when you set it up.

E.g. for an IPsec site to site, you specify local and remote subnet. The XG then inserts routes for that traffic when the connection is made.
