XG vs UTM

So, we are a small MSP, long time UTM user, around 20-ish UTM's at clients sites. I am also very familiar with Cisco and Checkpoint products from previous jobs. Love the good ol' UTM.

We are currently migrating our UTM to XG https://showbox.tools/ https://speedtest.vet/, since we will have to migrate all our clients at some point.

My question.. Is there anyone who has been using both extensively, and who likes the XG better?

It really blows my mind how unintuitive it is, and honestly it feels like a huge leap backwards. Just the idea of having to use that product, let alone migrate at least 20 firewalls from UTM, makes me seriously consider a job change.

  • Also,

XG is an zone and application based system which requires different thinking in creating rules compared to the UTM. The UTM has some nice features which the XG is still lacking eg and integrated DCHP and DNS, multiple IP addresses to the same device, integrated IPv6.
