All i have to do is hard restart the device to use it

I have logged in a ticket with Support and the only reply am getting :

Troubleshooting:

  • We have seen the firmware version was 18.5.1
  • We have upgraded to 18.5.2 and applied
  • We have applied Kdump on the firewall
  • We have checked the device firewall- acceleration was disable
  • We have checked the pattern update was applied for daily basis
  • Atop and CSC persistent has been applied for the device

POA- As discussed , whenever the device get freezes you will be connecting back on Support help line number.

  • Hi : Thanks for reaching out to the Sophos community team. Can you please check the syslog.log and dmesg to see there are any indications related to disk corruption or bad blocks on the disk?

    You may try below command:

    #cat /log/syslo.log | grep -i "DRDY"

OR you may attach syslog.log and dmesg output here as well for reference.

Also If possible go for a disktest and memory test  (memory test till 1 pass) of the appliance to be sure those components are not responsible for such random freeze issue which you are observing.

Please share a support case ID with us, so we may check the progress internally.
