AP Firmware 11.0.017

Oh wow, I have an APX120 and just installed .017.

Just after that it went red and "Inactive"...

I am currently doing the instructions according to the KB article:

Edit: Looks good so far, the APX came online and active again, devices are connecting as usual.

This happened to me yesterday.  I spent 6 hours trying to fix it!

I seem to remember 11.0.017 coming out in the summer.  It seemed strange that yesterday the XG said that there was a firmware update 11.0.017 available.  I do not know how or when the firmware was downgraded.  In any case, after I updated to 11.0.017 the APX units would try to sync but could not.  No matter how many restarts or time waiting.  They would appear in the pending list but would remain inactive.  

The only way I could get them functioning again was to use Sophos Central.  I have no idea why, but once they were registered there, they worked.  Perhaps it was coincidence.  Lots of unnecessary fun!

I am going to try the knowledge base article method to see if I can get them registering with the firewall again.

Ok, in my case I had to delete the APX120s from the Active/Inactive list.  I then waited for them to appear in the pending list.  It took about 5 to 10 minutes but they changed from Inactive to Active.  They are now working.  I did the workaround posted in KB-000043597 first.  It appears that I needed the extra step to re-register them with XG after removing them from Central.  

You need to do the workaround first; otherwise the XG will add them to the Active/Inactive list but the APX120 will never become active.
