Sophos XG Email attachments larger than 1mb is blocked

Hi,

XG does not limit mail attachments by default, only if you have a specific policy. Web mail is not treated as mail the same as email sent from an application.

So what you are saying is you have a policy in place that limits your attachment size. The policy could be your AD, your anti-virus package on the mobile device.

DO the mobile devices use the same email rule as the LAN attached devices?

You configure the mail attachment size in the email  -> general setting on the GUI.

Yes the same policy is used for mobile devices, there´s no extra policy. 

Application filter is the Sophos Application Filter Level 4&5 , which im using at other customers aswell and they dont have the problem.

Sounds very much like a mobile device issue. Are the mobile devices able to send larger attachments when out of the office?

Yeah so sending larger attachments is no problem when they are out of the office or when they use the outlook web interface. 

The problem only exists in the Outlook/Mail app

That is a known behavior and Support can resolve this for you. Please ping your case id to one of the support engineers to lift your limitation to 10 mb. 

Hi LuCar Toni, my case id/service request number 04250202 , but ive been waiting for 3 weeks now and didnt get the smallest response from Sophos

I know this is a temporary fix, what is the long term solution? Is the issue confined to a particular hardware version, why only one of his many clients? Is the issue confined to outlook or any mobile mail application?

So ive turned off the filter: scan outgoing emails and afterwards the problem is solved. Im not sure why the problem only exists on mobile devices with the mail/Outlook app but its working now 

Edit for other people with same Problem : Go to Emails, General Settings and scroll down to the bottom, deactivate :"Scan outgoing emails"

In this post is just said that the problem is solved but not how it got solved and what the original issue was....
