remove useless messages alert in control center now!

There are several requests to remove outdated alerts and warnings from he XG control center dashboard.

Example:

https://community.sophos.com/sophos-xg-firewall/f/discussions/127059/how-to-remove-messages-alert-in-control-center
https://community.sophos.com/sophos-xg-firewall/f/discussions/120750/remove-messages-alert-in-control-center

As of now you have not listen to user requests so you should know that those warnings become totally useless once they disappear behind outdated messages!

At least a reasonable list order from new to old should be implemented!

  • Another approach for "Quick and Dirty" would be to do a backup/restore. You are loosing the Reporting information (Use Central Reporting) and the Messages will be removed. This would be a workaround, if you really want to remove those.

  • Some reply I got from support about that in April 2021:

"The ID: NC-69584 has been converted to a Defect / Bug.
The fixed version is v18.5.1 MR1. We will update you once we have any information on the release date of v18.5.1 MR1."

update: After thinking about that, maybe this defect is only for an other bug about the missing information in active users display.

  • I find it even hard to guess what "m" means. Always thinking of minutes first.

showing a date would be just exact. Never understood why companies began using this format describing something in a timeline.

and yes, like mentioned initially by   it's sorting order is just random style:

    2months

    6months

    1week

    1week

    ??

  • We just updated to v18.5.1 MR1 and the messages are still there. These messages are so annoying. Meanwhile I just ignore them but when we show the dashboard to a customer they always ask us why there is something "red" on the dashboard. I just tell them that it is a bug in the OS which Sophos wasn't able to fix for over a year now.

  • Thanks for confirming this.

Support told me, this is not going to get fixed soon. The NC-ID was for an other issue we had with missing information on SSL VPN connected users.
