No bootable device after initial installation from USB Stick

Hello,

I just tried to install 18.01 from a USB stick, which worked fine, after that its not booting.

I have Supermicro X12SCZ-TLN4F with X550.

I allready tried to active CSM, but it tells me that it is somehow not suggest beause Intel does not support it (?).

Untill now I had this problem several times, but CSM switched on  solved it.

  • Hi,

I would recommend that you disable the i219 serial NIC because it is not supported, but having said that I don't believe that is the issue.

What errors on the console do you see during boot sequence?

  • There is no boot sequence, its just like CSM is not enabbled. As it seams XQ does not support UEFI. Untill know it was working after enable CSM, but as I wrote the BIOS compains that the Intel Chipset (or) CPU does not support it anymore, maybe it would work with a 9 Gen CPU, but I dont have any.

  • Hi,

I think this might answer your question, but does raise the question about none Sophos hardware support for the newer motherboards.

So the question will be is when will Sophos SFOS support UEFI boot?

    none EUFI not supported

  • I actually wonder why Supermicro har that option, even if it does not workand if tehre is any workarround. That would mean that no board without CMS would work.
