Bridged RED Device and Wireless

Hi,

I have just configured a XG230 and a SD-RED60 to be in a bridge setup.

This bridged setup has stopped the AP on the SD-RED60 from being sensed by the XG230.

I have exhausted everything I can think off but it isn't showing up in the lists of Access Points on the XG230.

I have tried it with the RED in it's own Zone, as well as in the LAN Zone.

The RED AP was in the Access Points list originally as it was working when it was it's own interface without being Bridged. As soon as added the RED to the Bridge the AP went inactive, so I delete it to see if it would reappear in the "Pending Access Points" list but it hasn't.

The problem has already been discussed in community.sophos.com/.../bridged-red-device-and-wireless, but unfortunately without a solution.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Martin

  • Hello there,

Thank you for contacting the Sophos Community.

Adding to what rfcat_vk, mentioned already, would it be possible for you to disable Spoof protection if you have it enable.

Additionally, try adding the Magic IP on the allowed networks for the RED device (1.2.3.4)

    Regards,

  • Hello,

yes, I have already opened a support ticket. Unfortunately I don't get an answer.

The spoof protection was not activated.

"Additionally, try adding the Magic IP on the allowed networks for the RED device (1.2.3.4)"

    - What do you mean by that?

RED and LAN act as a bridge. The RED configuration can no longer be edited.

    Best wishes
