Did you configure email protection in MTA or Legacy mode? Could you please tell us more about the email protection configuration on your firewall?

Assuming it worked before without any issues and retry doesn't work.

If you are in MTA mode try setting it back to Legacy mode in Mail -> General settings and save. Change it back again to MTA and save. None of your settings need to be re-entered. Sophos will autocreate the firewall NAT rules. You might have double rules. Check if your email is released now.

If so you can disable the autoadded rules and see if the mail is flowing again without any mail stuck.

This worked for me after making some changes that I had to undo like routing inbound email tru the gateway.
