XG 310 Gateway Heartbeat

Hi All,

Is there a way on the XG310 to set up multiple IP Addresses to check for heartbeat? It checks the gateway OK, but it this is up and another device further down the line is out of action, it would be nice to have this visibility?

    Hello Stuart,

    Thank you for the follow-up.

    If you go to Configure >> Routing >> Gateways >> Failover Rules >> Add

    You can add here other Hosts to Pings. 

    In addition to this, I would recommend you to change the one that the XG picks by default, which usually is the router of your ISP Provider, for an IP on the internet such as 8.8.8.8 or any other Public IP that you know won’t usually go down, that way the XG can actually check full internet connectivity beyond only the ISP router, as usually, the ISP's router won’t go down, but their internet connectivity might get affected, so it won't failover.
