Internet and MPLS configuration

Hi all,

I'm a little bit confused with the VLAN configuration on XG.

I'm running a XG210 with latest firmware

ISP has provided two IPs for Internet and MPLS.

  • Internet 41.17.258.41
  • MPLS 172.25.45.258

ISP cable goes to port 4.

  • port4.1125 - Internet
  • port 4.2552 - MPLS

The configurations seems not to work. Kindly assist on how I should do the configurations.

  • Hi  : Can you please share current configuration snapshot? Also if you have not configured VLAN over WAN then gateway may not came up. So configured Port4 with LAN or DMZ with any fake IP or network and then over same Port 4 click on add VLAN option and fill the the VLAN ID details given by ISP with VLAN zone as in WAN and fill the other required details given by ISP and this should make your Port4 VLAN Internet gateway status up.

  • Hi  : Thanks for sharing the snapshot. Is gateway status showing up or down? If  it is showing down can you confirm gateway IP ARP on XG?

console> sy dia uti arp sh x.x.x.x ( where x.x.x.x is gateway IP).

You may manually initiate the ARP request to your gateway via console access.

console >system diagnostics utilities arp ping source 1.1.1.1 interface Port4.XXX 1.1.1.2

Where in the example 1.1.1.1 is the WAN configured on XG device and Port 4.XXX is the WAN interface and 1.1.1.2 is your Gateway address.
