Ability to specify WAN and LAN nics on specific ports at setup time.

Are there any plans to allow to specify WAN and LAN default device from the console itself?

Currently it always defaults to port1 and port2 which can be very frustrating when using on a VMs with physical and virtual interfaces especially when changing (physical) order of NICs is not supported post installation.

Ability to define which NICs are LAN and WAN would resolve this problem. ( Or alternatively.. allow changing the order of interfaces and base it's configuration on MAC address rather than PCI order ).

    I will pass your feedback to PM for future improvements.

    Also in Physical appliances,  Port1 will default to LAN and Port2 to WAN. You then can change the zone from the GUI.

    Hi Jay,

    as a comment, the function must be in the software already just not on an easy accessible method because if you install an XG ISO on a XG Sophos hardware the ports are assigned in different order to the Sophos hardware specific installation software.
