Slow Upload Speed on symmetrical 10G

I just got a symmetric gigabit connection (10G).
When using Sophos XG, I get close to the full download speeds, but the upload is a fraction what I should get (300-400mbit).

I have tryed with a ALL ALL ALLOW Rule I disabled also IPS and other stuff but no chance..

SFOS 17.5.12 MR-12 / SFOS 18.0.1 MR-1-Build396
(tested with both and with MTU 9000 on v18). When I I was connected directly to the Modem/Router I reached the right speed, so it's an issue from the FW.

I don't know if it's important to know but I have many Error the whole day (Gateway going down a few minutes later came up)

    i5 with AES-NI
    8Gb RAM (only 6 usable)
    240Gb Intel SSD
    Ports: 4x1Gbit / 2xSFP / 4xSFP+

  • Hello Maurosfos,

Thank you for contacting the Sophos Community.

What tool are you using to test the upload speed?

Do you see any error in the counter of the interface? SSH in to the XG, press 5 > 3 and  then type #ifconfig.

Additionally to this could you please go to Configure >> System Services >> Traffic Shaping settings and make sure VoIP and Guaranteed bandwidth are both disabled.

    Regards,

  • Hi emmosophos

Thank u for your quick replay.
I use many speedtest online and speedtest app from Ookla.

I don't know how I figure out if there are errors?
Traffic shaping is and was disabled both also I have it not selected on any fw-rule.

  • Hello Maurosfos,

    Thank you for the follow-up.

The Interfaces don't seem to show any error.

In the 3 WAN interfaces, you are using the speed provided by your ISP is the same?

Can you share a screenshot of the results of the speed tests.

    Regards,

  • Hello emmosophos

    Ok, thanks for diagnosis.
In the 3 WAN Int. I am using the speed...? Sry I don't understeand the question.

My router has only a 2.5Gbit port instead a 10G so I reach max 2500Mbit, that's enough for the moment. I will change it next month.
It seems that Sophos will limit the upload speed...but I don't know how and wich option I must disable.
